Note: This work is divided in chapters, of which the first six in this vol., containing a lot about natural history with general notes on plants, fruit & trees. On p. 13 a list of trees growing in the gardens of Rio de Janeiro, like the "mangifera indica, Linn. the musa, carica erythrina" etc., but no descriptions of those. The same on p. 14. about fruits like "psicium pyriferum, Linn., artocarpus integrifolia, lecythis ollaria, Linn., the araucaria" etc.
