The wheat was introduced into France from Spain by a French officer after the campaign of 1823. M. Casteleyn, a farmer at Boistrancourt was the first to introduce it into the Cambrai district and he had been cultivating it for 2 years. P. 180 gives the earliest and latest times of planting. Rest cultural.
