| Notes: | The first offical Swedish pharmacopoeia, Pharmacopoeja holmiensis galenochymica, which was published in 1686, was not revised for nearly a century. First steps toward such a revision were taken about the time when Bäck was appointed to the presidency of the Collegium Medicum (1753), or after Linnaeus had published the first book of his Materia Medica. Liber I. De plantis in 1749. Both men were vitally interested in the progress of the revision and devoted much of their correspondence with each other discussing it. |
