Notes: While Linnaeus suffered from a severe case of Uppsala fever, he prescribed many of his own remedies. A prescription is mentioned in which 11 different herbs were used, of which only 2, chamomile & linseed, have survived in present-day pharmacopaea. Both of Linnaeus's physicians, Nils Rosen von Rosenstien & his son-in-law, Aurivillius, died before their celebrated patient. Linnaeus conceived a great friendship and admiration for the older man and watched at his bedside, when von Rosenstein lay there in his terminal illness, in 1773. "C" form in biog. file.
