J. Fischer had read his address entitled Fete séculaire de Charles de Linné, celebrée par la Soc. Imp. des Nat. Moscou.. Schychovsky had drawn upon D. H. Stöver's Leben des Ritters Carl v. Linné for his dates. It is possible that a confusion existed in the minds of 19th century writers as to the difference in time between the Julian and the Gregorian calendars, in the 18th century, as compared with that established for the followin g centuries. “C” form in HI biography file. |
