| Notes: | One of the 4 potraits discussed by O. T. Hult in Svenska Linné-Sällsk. Årsskrift 13: 61-68. 1930 is here more exactly identified as being a copy in oils of the engraving by Manuel de la Cruz (1750-1792), which was reproduced by Simon de Brieva (1742-1795) as a portrait of Linnaeus for the Spanish translation (revised) of Systema plantarum. The Spanish version was made by Antonio Palau y Verdera and was published under the title: Parte practica de botanica del Caballero Carlos Linneo Madrid 1784-86. “C” form in HI biography file. |
