Notes: Through Grill and Arfwedson, ships brokers and directors of the Swedish East India Company, Linnaeus imported many tropical plants into Sweden and subsidized voyages of exploration among his pupils. Finds here referred to are letters exchanged with several heads of these families, notably Claes Grill, a collector of biological specimens in his own right (cf.
