| Notes: | "J. von Warszewicz" often mentioned in Allg. Gartenz.: in 1842 as "Kunstgärtner im K. Bot. Gart. zu Berlin" (1. c. 10: 81, 361); in 1850 is mention of a palm sent from South America to Allardt of Berlin (1.c. 18: 32); and a list of orchids collected by him in Central American and offered for sale (1.c. 18: 160). None of these give his first name, nor does this appear in the following obituary notices: Belg. Hort. 17:11, 1867; and Gartenflora 16:95-96, 1867. Both of these notices give his connection with Botanic garden of Cracow, first giving Dec. 29, and 2nd Dec. 31, 1866 as date of his death.
