| Notes: | Typed notes on card: Pritzel says born Luxembourg 1817. Two notices in Gartenflora at time of death state that he was born in Luxembourg, Feb. 3, 1817. Sketch by kerchove de Denterghem in Rev. Hort. Belg. Etrang. states that Linden was born 3 Feb. 1813, probably typographical error for 1817, but the accompanying portrait bears the dates 1816-1898. Sketch by Hariot in Journ. Soc. Nat. Hort. France gives date as 1816; as does the notice in Rev. Hort.. Urban's sketch in Symbolae Antillanae, however, takes the date as Feb. 1817. |
